WMD Oct 9
Welcome kiddos to the next Mind blowing installment of THE WEEKLY MIND DUMP!!!! The week of Oct 9, 2017! This week we have another VERY informative article by Rev Hernandez, and just some general comments. Don’t want to overload you too much.
My sincere heartfelt apologies for missing last week (Oct 2). Early in the morning of Sunday, my wife’s grandfather passed away. Coming in so quick, we rushed to the family so she could be with them. Thank you for your understanding.
Yes, i am still pimping this. Why not. We have started another store for just general stuff. We have shirts, phone cases, all sorts of other items to choose from. Go check it out. It is at https://shop.spreadshirt.com/TwistedKiltSociety/
Thoughts on fashion
You know, it’s always the ladies who have a lot to say when it comes to our clothing choices. It struck me long ago that a man might dress like a slob, or refuse to change clothes, but it is the woman who forced him into the interminable jeans and sports shirt in the first place. The woman will screech bloody murder any time an expensive man’s garment is being considering for purchase. The woman will cast all the aspersions, if any, on the glorious kilt.
One of my brothers used to spend his decades dressed like a farmer. He learned from his first father-in-law. It was rugged jeans, square-toe boots and flannel shirts for him. Then he met a woman after his divorce. In three months she had him dressing the way he swore to Almighty God he’d never dress: childishly striped short sleeve shirts and shorts. The first time I saw him I couldn’t quit laughing. He looked like Linus from The Peanuts and only needed his security blanket (which function I guess was served by his wife).
My wife used to raise a ruckus like that every time my talk turned to kilts– but at least she was all for it, once she saw me in one. Best of all, in her mind, was the relatively low price. God bless her, she tried early with me, first steering me to the teens’ department when I was in my early 30’s. It never worked: I’ve always dressed the way I want to dress.
I wonder why this happens. Men wore dresses, kilts, blouses and high heels for centuries before women did it. During those long gone millennia, women only wrapped themselves in bolts of cloth. It was the guys who enjoyed tailored clothes, which have since been hogged by women. They left modern man with pants and tee shirts. So I’m touched whenever a lady says she loves her man in a kilt, because usually they only love Mel Gibson in a kilt. Progress, what price?
So you men lucky enough to have the spouse by your side, be grateful. Not only is there someone who understands you better than your mom, she won’t yell at you half as much. She’s probably into it, helping you with a style or a tartan, helping you find a better deal or a trustworthy kilt maker. She might even be trusted to obtain your kilt hose. Lucky you.
For the rest, it’s suit up for battle and kilt on!
